Summary
Do you like to give language lessons to non-native speakers in small groups? Then come and teach at the intake groups.Detailed description
Before non-native speakers can start with language lessons, they sometimes have to wait until there is room. In order to maintain motivation and to initiate language development, intake groups are starting in West Friesland. The participant participates in the intake group until he can move on to the chosen language course.
You work independently with the participants of the intake group with a team of language volunteers. The intake group has room for 15 participants who are supervised by at least 5 volunteers.
Every week, the volunteer works with a small group of participants with accessible language assignments, language games and story cards. Clear instruction and explanation of the materials is available.
In preparation, the volunteer follows the basic training for Language Volunteers of the Taalhuis Westfriesland department of Vrijwilligerspunt. The training is four half-days and covers all aspects of being a language volunteer and the transmission of the language.
The trainer of the Taalhuis department is the point of contact for the language volunteers and provides guidance for the intake groups.
You have a good sense of language. You are patient and you enjoy explaining things, but you can also listen carefully to what the participants indicate that they want to practice. Experience with the target group is of course an advantage, but is not necessary. You are flexible, you can explain well and you are able to tailor your approach to the needs and possibilities of the participants you work with.
The location, day and time of the lessons are not yet known.
