A faint, concussion, bleeding or alcohol poisoning. You come across all kinds of things during an event. Do you take action when someone needs immediate help? Sign up as a volunteer.
Do you keep your cool?
As a rescuer from the Red Cross, you are trained for unexpected situations. Is anyone injured? You keep your cool and take responsibility.
The Kermis in Hoorn, De Dikke Hikdagen in Enkhuizen, Huttendorp in Andijk, but also at national events such as the Dam tot Dam run, Nijmegen Four Days Marches and Pinkpop, you and your team are ready.
The visitors are having a great day and so are you!
Who are you?
You are 18 years or older
You have a valid comprehensive Red Cross First Aid certificate (EH4100 or equivalent diploma) or are willing to obtain it
You make yourself available a few days a year
You are stress resistant and you have resilience
You take immediate action if something happens and you take responsibility
You listen well and respond to the needs of victims
You live in West Friesland, and you have the opportunity to come to the location.

Department of West Friesland
The West Friesland department is 1 of the 5 departments of the North Holland North district. The department has three locations: Enkhuizen, Hoorn and Medemblik with a total of about 250 volunteers. The locations offer various activities, such as first aid and self-reliance for people in a vulnerable situation, home visits and first aid training for the blind and partially sighted.
