Summary
The Hendrick de Keyser Association is looking for volunteers who will bring their Huis Bonck on the Binnenluiendijk in Hoorn to life.Detailed description
Do you know Huis Bonck? That beautiful house at Binnenluiendijk 3 in Hoorn? Owner Vereniging Hendrick de Keyser opened this monument as a Museum House in June 2018. Volunteer in this special 17th century house.
At Museumhuizen doors literally open for you. Until now, the doors of these houses were virtually closed, but from now on everyone can take a look in the kitchen and other rooms!
At Museumhuizen the houses really come to life and a world opens up for you! You will not find 'do not touch' signs in a Museum House. Visitors are allowed to sit on the 17th century chairs, try out the box bed or drink tea in the inner room.
Your role
A house without residents is not a house but a museum. No people live in the Museumhuis in Huis Bonck, but as an activator you do perform those actions that a resident would also perform. They are not plays in historical costume, but you do bring the house to life. This can be done in many ways, but the point is that as a volunteer you create the feeling of a (t) home.
What do we offer?
A special workplace at a beautiful location in Hoorn, with a professional charity, with pleasant other volunteers. You are never alone at work. The Hendrick de Keyser Association offers a travel allowance. In addition, as a volunteer you will receive a personal access pass that gives you access to all Museum Houses of the Association and you can participate in an interesting lecture program.
During the introductory period you are available at least one half day per week. After that, the minimum commitment is one half day every two weeks.
The Hendrick de Keyser Association is looking for volunteers with good communication and social skills, who enjoy working with people. No specific prior knowledge or experience is required, but interest in architecture, the building or the history of the region is desirable. You also live in the region. During the introductory period you are available at least one half day per week. After that, the minimum commitment is one half-day every two weeks.
