Summary
Calling or receiving calls from people who feel lonely or alone, want a listening ear or have a request for help.Detailed description
Since corona, Welwonen has set up the platform 'For each other in Enkhuizen'. This helpline is staffed by professionals and volunteers. During the week between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and on the weekend between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Until Corona arrived, many people found support and a listening ear at the Enigma House. A free welfare facility from Welwonen. Specially intended for people who feel lonely, (future) caregivers and people with early dementia or other memory problems.
As long as the Enigmahuis is still in lockdown, these are your activities:
- You log in via an app on your own smart phone and you can be reached at agreed times for the telephone number of For each other in Enkhuizen.
- You listen to the caller and try to find a solution to a possible question. If desired, you can consult with the app group of volunteers from Voor Each other in Enkhuizen.
- You regularly call people who appreciate this.
If the Enigmahuis is allowed to reopen, these are your activities:
- You work on Monday, Thursday or Friday morning from 9 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
- In an informal setting - we address each other by first name - you ensure that visitors feel at ease and welcome;
- You listen to what concerns them, while in the meantime you also make sure that they have something to drink;
- Sometimes you only offer a listening ear and sometimes you provide tools or advice.
What we ask:
- You can listen actively and patiently and observe well;
- You have a respectful and supportive attitude;
- You are tolerant of people who sometimes behave differently;
What we offer:
- Coaching on the job
- Contact with other volunteers (during lockdown via app group)
- Every year a dinner with the volunteers or a Christmas package.
